Ekkehard Lohse Design of Regularly Structured Composite Latent Heat Storages for Thermal Management Applications
124 Seiten, Dissertation Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg (2013), Softcover, A5
Due to their high latent heat of fusion phase change materials allow the design of high capacity thermal energy storages that can be used for electronics cooling. A major challenge for efficient charging and discharging is the low thermal conductivity. A new approach to compensate this by the combination with thermally conductive frame-structures is presented in this work. According to newly developed design guidelines the frame-structures are customized for special cooling applications, which can be produced by selective laser melting.
