Timo Anselment Development of Novel Phosphine Sulphonate-Based Palladium Catalysts for Ethene Homo- and Co-Polymerisation Reactions with Polar Functionalised Olefins
197 Seiten, Dissertation Technische Universität München (2011), Hardcover, A5
This Ph. D. thesis concerns the investigation of phosphine sulphonate-based Pd(II) complexes with respect to their behaviour in homo- and copolymerisation reactions of ethene and polar functionalised olefins. Different approaches for catalyst design have been successfully performed and the resulting catalysts were tested in polymerisation reactions. The synthesis of non-symmetrically sulphonated phosphines and subsequent phase transfer reactions leads to novel anionic Pd(II) polymerisation catalysts. Additionally the influence of functional groups on the structure of neutral phosphine sulfonate-based Pd(II) complexes in solution and solid state was examined in detail. Polymerisation reactions with these catalysts provided new insights into the structure activity relationship for this class of catalysts.
