Clemens Liedel Towards Aligned Nanowires from Block Copolymer Templates
307 Seiten, Dissertation Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (2013), Softcover, A5
The first steps toward aligned nanowires based on nanocomposites in electric fields are described in this PhD thesis. The studied composite materials include different block copolymers and metal or semiconductor nanoparticles.
In thin films, the electric field-induced alignment of both pure block copolymers and different composites is discussed. This work especially features in-situ insights into the alignment mechanism and kinetics by means of AFM and SAXS experiments. The most important result is that the addition of nanoparticles to a block copolymer significantly changes quality and speed of alignment and the minimum necessary field strength that has to be applied.
