Sebastian Johannes Hock Synthesis, Characterization and Properties of New Rhenium NHC Complexes
81 Seiten, Dissertation Technische Universität München (2013), Softcover, A5
This dissertation reports on synthesis, characterization and properties of new rhenium bis(NHC) complexes. The aim was to find and characterize new compounds of the –compared to other transition metals– rather unexplored field of Re(I) bis(NHC) chemistry. Moreover, the potential of such compounds in the fields of catalysis and biomedical applications should be investigated. A first study aimed on varying the bridge length between the chelating NHC rings and the wingtips to gain information about chemical and physical properties of the resulting complexes. In a second study, the generation of an easily displaceable coordination site on such compounds was carried out and catalytic tests conducted. Substitution and stability studies of cationic Re(I) complexes were carried out and the influence of different weakly coordinating anions on complex reactivity and solubility was investigated.
