Cristina de Salas From waste to fine chemicals: New radical reactions for the recovery of nitrogen monoxide
207 Seiten, Dissertation Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (2014), Softcover, A5
Nitrogen monoxide is a frequently occurring waste gas in many fields of industry, in electrical power generation and in waste combustion. Denitrification is today mainly carried out by selective catalytic reduction (SCR) or selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR). In the recently developed BioDeNOx process nitrogen monoxide is removed from a stream of waste gas by an iron(II)-containing absorber solution and a subsequent enzymatic reaction to produce nitrogen. Based on this strategy, we are aiming at chemical reactions, which can convert iron(II)-complexed nitrogen monoxide not only into nitrogen, but into valuable products including pharmaceuticals.
