This work focuses on the application of the organorhenium(VII) oxides, especially 2,6-dimethylphenyltrioxorhenium and ethyltrioxorhenium in the catalytic epoxidation of olefins with the oxidants hydrogenperoxide and tert-butylhydroperoxide. Special emphasis is put on spectroscopical and theoretical investigations on activation and decomposition mechanisms.
