Sucre Cumana Application of silica-based porous materials in microreactors and chromatographic separations
209 Seiten, Dissertation Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg (2014), Softcover, A5
In this work the sol-gel process is used for the development of suitable porous materials (gels) to be used in microreactors and chromatographic separations. Initially the structural properties of the gels as a function of different sol-gel parameters are studied. The immobilization of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in different gels and subsequent application in microreactors is also described. The sol-gel process allows the easy loading of the enzyme doped materials inside the microreactors. The resulting carriers should offer high enzymatic activity and stability after encapsulation. The use of silica aerogels as stationary phase for chromatographic separations is also discussed. One idea is to profit from the extensive surface area of aerogels. The results should help to develop a dynamic method for the determination of interactions between active compounds and the surface of silica aerogels by chromatographic measurements.
