Christian Hartmann Wireless Networking: Adaptive and Distributed Resource Management
344 Seiten, Habilitation Technische Universität München (2014), Softcover, A5
The central theme of this book is the efficient use of resources (frequencies, infrastructure and transmission power) in modern existing and future wireless communication networks. To this end, the two main architectures of wireless networks, namely cellular networks and the increasingly important ad hoc networks are considered separately and each treated and analyzed in the three phases of planning, configuration and operation of wireless networking. The focus is on the development and evaluation of methods of resource management, which are both, self organizing, and adaptive. Adaptivity in modern wireless communication networks is essential in order to adapt to the ever-changing space and time communication needs of users, but also to set the optimal use of resources for each existing and also continuously changing quality of the physical communication channel. This applies to both cellular as well as for ad hoc networks, primarily because of the mobility of subscribers in all wireless networks.
