Georg Schober Entwicklung eines Pump-Turbinen Konzeptes mit einer radial-axialen Beschaufelung
156 Seiten, Dissertation Technische Universität München (2016), Softcover, A5
The change of energy paradigm requires that Pumped-Storage Power Plants have a wide range of operation but low investment costs. A reasonable cost reduction can be achieved through a low hydraulic setting. The basic idea of the new concept is to achieve a reasonable efficiency, no cavitation throughout the entire range of operation and primarily a low setting, replacing the conventional radial runner with a radial-axial pump-turbine blading (RAPT). This dissertation discusses the results of a comprehensive numerical study, and details the development of a new pump-turbine design.
