Molecular nanomagnets are promising candidates for applications as high density data storage devices or in quantum information processing. This thesis deals with appropriate experimental and theoretical techniques to analyze their magnetic properties and gain a deeper insight to the electronic structure of transition metal and lanthanide based polynuclear molecular nanomagnets.
