Nargis Khakin Volatile microbial metabolites from myxobacteria
184 Seiten, Dissertation Technische Universität Braunschweig (2020), Hardcover, A5
Microbial volatile organic compounds are produced by a wide array of microorganisms ranging from bacteria to fungi. A growing body of evidence indicates that microbial volatile organic compounds can be exploited as a cost-effective sustainable strategy for use in agricultural practice as agents that enhance plant growth, productivity, and disease resistance. As naturally occurring chemicals, they have potential as possible alternatives to harmful pesticides, fungicides, and bactericides as well as genetic modification.
In this research work, the investigation was carried out to determine the possible chemical components from Sandaracinus amyloliticus by GC/MS analysis and organic synthetic methodologies. The structures of volatile compounds were established by comparison of the mass spectra and GC retention indices with corresponding data of the synthetic references established under identical experimental conditions. This helped identify nine new natural compounds from Sandaracinus amylolyticus.
