Gregor Scholz LED-based holographic microscopy
181 Seiten, Dissertation Technische Universität Braunschweig (2021), Hardcover, A5
Recent advancements in semiconductor technology and digital image processing have made LED-based holographic microscopy feasible as a compact and cost-effective technology. Especially, semi-coherent LED illumination based pixel super-resolution techniques enable new perspectives in optical resolution. This paves the path for many frontier life science applications, such as continuous life cell monitoring, fast remote medical diagnostics, as well as mobile micro-biological observations. In this work, an LED based holographic platform is realized and investigations on its optical properties and feasibility in cell imaging are conducted. Moreover, for further setup improvement, integrated pinhole LED light sources and pixel super resolution have been proposed and studied in theory, design, simulation and experiment.
