Yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) hollow sphere photonic glasses with highly saturated non-iridescent structural color were developed and investigated towards high-temperature stability. The photonic glass structure was studied by ptychographic X-ray computed tomography (PXCT) and small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). Furthermore, the orderdisorder transition of self-assembled monodisperse spheres was studied with focus on the electrostatic particle-particle and particle-substrate interaction via pH variation and heteroaggregation of oppositely charged particles.
