David Colin Virtual development of non-crimp fabrics: numerical textile description at the scale of the filaments and forming simulation.
227 Seiten, Dissertation Technische Universität München (2022), Softcover, A5
Simulation of the preforming process can support the development of new composite parts but requires time-consuming material characterizations. In this work, preforming processes with dry non-crimp fabrics are simulated at the macroscopic scale to derive the optimal deformation behavior of textiles. In addition, a detailed description of the textile is implemented at the scale of the filaments to predict its shear behavior. This multiscale approach can identify suitable textile architectures for the manufacture of composite parts with reduced experimental effort.
