Qian Du Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Cathode Materials for Lithium-Sulfur Batteries and Their Use in Energy Storage Systems
162 Seiten, Dissertation Universität Stuttgart (2024), Softcover, A5
This study focuses on improving the electrochemical performance of lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries. While progress has been made in optimizing capacity and cycle life, polysulfide shuttle remains a major challenge in Li-S batteries, causing material and capacity loss. To address this issue, this study primarily investigates cathode materials which can prevent the polysulfide shuttle from forming. Four cathode active materials, including sulfurized poly(norbornadiene) and sulfurized poly(dicyclopentadiene), sulfurized poly(propylene), and recycled polypropylene (PP), have been synthesized and characterized to achieve decent sulfur loadings without polysulfide shuttle.
