The identification and control of invariant and parameter-varying spatially interconnected systems in input-output representations is considered. The input-output models for invariant and parameter-varying spatially interconnected systems are identified for the cases of both the high and low signal-to-noise ratios using prediction error method based framework. Further, a method to identify unstable spatially interconnected systems in closed-loop is proposed. Polynomial based input-output linear parameter-varying controller synthesis for linear parameter-varying models with input-output representations is presented.
