Kerstin Wohlgemuth BIWIC 2017 24th International Workshop on Industrial Crystallization
217 Seiten, Tagungsband (2017), Softcover, A5
Crystallization is a key technology for separation and purification of products and finds wide application in chemical, pharmaceutical, food, and other processing industries. It is the answer to most different challenges that have to be engineered in product design: The product can be the solid, with desired properties like crystal size distribution, mean crystal size, purity, crystal shape or polymorphic form, or the purified mother liquor. These various objectives require scientific input of multidisciplinary background, e.g. from chemical engineering, chemistry, or physics. Moreover demands and challenges can only be met with approaches from both the applied scientific side as well as the theoretical scientific side. Bringing together these two sides, academia and industry at BIWIC has proven to be fruitful over the last years as it offers the platform for a mutual exchange of ideas and thus identifying white spots on the technology map.
