Ayman Sleman SOA Operating System for Distributed Resource-Constrained Embedded Devices
156 Seiten, Dissertation Bergische Universität Wuppertal (2012), Softcover, A5
Recently, service integration of home networks into Internet, healthcare systems, and Smart Grids has become an important research area. In this direction, I have developed a programming model based on Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) to implement this integration process. This model is envisioned to work as an operating system called SOA-OS to manage the network of distributed embedded devices for a home, hospital, etc. It provides a reliable, user-friendly model to integrate these devices into other IP-based networks at a high level of interoperability and regardless of their capabilities
Basically, SOA-OS is based on a 4-layered architecture. It can solve many problems related to accessing resource-constrained devices from IP-based-networks, e.g., dynamic discovery of the devices and their services, authorization, security, time synchronization, and scheduling the online time of the devices.
