Reduction of Dominant Interference to Patient Speech Communication at Magnetic Resonance Tomography Systems

429 Seiten, Dissertation Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (2013), Softcover, A5

Zusammenfassung / Abstract

At current Magnetic Resonance (MR) scanners for medical imaging, understanding of patient’s speech via a communication system is significantly disturbed by intense acoustical noise, which is produced by the scanner during operation. This dissertation provides a detailed discussion of improvements to patient speech communication at MR systems and introduces a signal processing solution that achieves significant enhancement of patient speech intelligibility during MR imaging.

Further, a modified Exponential Sine Sweep method is developed that reduces systematic errors of the original measurement method for nonlinear system characterization and parameter identification of nonlinear models.
