Jan Marek Marcinczak Image Analysis of Mini-Laparoscopic Sequences for Computer Aided Diagnosis of Liver Cirrhosis
152 Seiten, Dissertation Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg (2015), Softcover, A5
Mini-Laparoscopy is a technique which is used by clinicians to observe organs inside the abdomen with thin rigid endoscopes.
This work presents methods for analysis and 3D reconstruction of liver cirrhosis based on minilaparoscopic sequences. Main focus is given to the precise reconstruction of the cirrhotic liver surface from monocular sequences in presence of specular reflections and illumination change.
The presented approaches cover specular reflection segmentation, automatic seed selection and detection of Lymphangiectasia, sparse 3D reconstruction of liver cirrhosis from monocular mini-laparoscopic sequences and total variation dense 3D reconstruction of liver cirrhosis with increased robustness to changes in irradiance and specular reflections. The segmentation algorithms have been evaluated on clinical data while the reconstruction accuracy of the 3D reconstruction approaches has been measured in an experimental setup using liver phantoms
