Zusammenfassung / Abstract

This dissertation presents the work done towards the total synthesis of (–)-borrelidin. The eighteen-membered natural macrolide-polyketide, which possesses interesting biological properties, was disconnected in three main fragments. The two southern fragments were connected by cross-metathesis whereas the northern part and the southwestern part were connected via an organolithium intermediate. The installation of the desoxypolypropionate unit of the molecule was done using a copper-mediated o-DPPB-directed allylic substitution methodology which afforded good yields and high diastereoselectivity.
