Markus Beyer Photo-Doping Phenomena in the High-Temperature Superconductor La(2-x)Sr(x)CuO(4)

Within the framework of this thesis a systematic time-resolved optical study of the La(2-x)Sr(x)CuO(4) (LSCO) cuprate system is performed. The experiments cover two topics. The first one examines photo-doping phenomena in the undoped parent compound La(2)CuO(4) by utilizing ultrafast spectroscopy in a broad range of energies (0.5 - 2.6 eV) . The second topic addresses the photo-induced melting of superconductivity in LSCO using optical as well as terahertz probe pulses.
