Uditha Prabhath Liyanage Parameter Identification Based on Occupation Times with Application to Fleece Production
135 Seiten, Dissertation Technische Universität Kaiserslautern (2012), Softcover, A5
In this thesis we investigate the parameter estimation of the fiber lay-down process in the production of fleece or nonwoven. The parameter estimation is based on the mass per unit area data, which are the easily accessible data on industrial scale. We introduce appropriate stochastic models to represent the fiber lay-down under different conditions, and through the model’s parameters we characterize this fiber lay-down. The resulting fiber lay-down (stochastic) processes are analyzed in the White Noise framework, which is a branch of stochastic analysis. The occupation time of each fiber lay-down process is analyzed to formulate an optimization procedure that estimates the model’s parameters. The optimization procedures are tested using the occupation time data given by Monte-Carlo simulations. The feasibility of the optimization procedures on industrial level is tested using the fiber paths simulated by an industrial software FIDYST (Fraunhofer ITWM, Germany).
