Raphael Schulz Spatial Asymptotic Profile in Geophysical Fluid Dynamics
135 Seiten, Dissertation Technische Universität Darmstadt (2012), Softcover, A5
We consider mathematical equations of fluid mechanics, which are motivated by geophysical phenomena. In the whole space the behaviour of solutions to the Boussinesq equations as well as the Navier-Stokes-Coriolis equations at large distances is investigated. Therefore, we study the solvability of these equations in weighted function spaces and determine the asymptotic profile for sufficiently fast decaying initial data. We are able to construct initial data such that the solution of the Boussinesq equations exhibits an interesting concentration-diffusion effect.
