Aerial vehicles with higher-level automation are on the rise.
This thesis presents a generic design, implementation, and testing methodology for system automation, an operator-centric multi-user automation for flight control systems of experimental aircraft with contingency procedures, and a multi-maneuver multi-control-level maneuver injection for flight tests with automatic trim point capture and verification.
The real-life applicability is proven through flight tests on a variety of unmanned, optionally-piloted, and manned demonstration aircraft.
