The understanding and control of the electronic properties of quantum materials are essential for the development of new information processing devices and energy related technologies. Functionalizing the properties of new materials in devices almost certainly means that the material will be embedded in an electronic circuit where electric currents and voltages are the important observables. As the demand for faster information processing devices continues to grow, it is important to investigate the electrical properties of quantum materials on ultrafast timescales. Thus, this thesis documents the development of an optoelectronic circuit platform that enables the study of ultrafast phenomena in quantum materials via the characterization of electrical currents and voltages.
