Henning Jost Reasoning on Domain Knowledge and Technical Standards to Support the Development of Safety-Critical Automotive Systems
302 Seiten, Dissertation Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg (2012), Hardcover, D4
Addressing the development of automotive Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a proposed methodology comprises the modelling of automotive domain knowledge and related standards, especially the safety standard ISO 26262, by means of OWL (Web Ontology Language) ontologies. These knowledge models are further processed to conduct a preliminary risk analysis that enables the automatic derivation of product-relevant measures compliant to the ISO standard, thus tailoring the reference process of ISO 26262 to a specific development. With regard to technical efficiency, the lessons learned refer to modelling and performance issues involving semantic rule and query languages. Although the automotive domain is mainly represented on a conceptual level by the ontologies, the proposed methodology provides an early assessment of an ADAS concept in terms of the development effort to be expected, while improving the manageability of demanded standards and their analysis methods.
