Multiscale Potential Methods in Geothermal Research: Decorrelation Reflected Post-Processing and Locally Based Inversion

296 Seiten, Dissertation Technische Universität Kaiserslautern (2015), Hardcover, D4

Zusammenfassung / Abstract

Modeling geothermal reservoirs is a key issue of geothermal energy development. The aim of this thesis is to present multiscale potential methods in gravimetric and seismic exploration. The study starts with the formulation of the solvability of the Laplace, Helmholtz, and d’Alembert equations in terms of fundamental solutions. The essential tools for the multiscale approximation are taylorized regularization techniques of the fundamental solutions. Two essential tasks can be attacked, namely the decorrelation reflected post-processing of interior gravimetric and seismic data and locally based wavelet inversion of potential and source data. The post-processing method is intended to enable better interpretability of geothermal relevant geological structures. The local inversion process is meant as an improvement technique of geological information by additional borehole data in areas for planned borehole activities.
