Sergej Krylow Theoretical study of solid-state materials after ultrafast laser-excitations
166 Seiten, Dissertation Universität Kassel (2020), Hardcover, A5
An ultrafast laser pulse can induce dynamics, which would be otherwise not possible in the ground state. The detailed dynamics are generally a complex interplay between different effects. Such effects are, for example, the generation of coherent phonons, phonon squeezing, non-thermal melting or phase transitions. The timescales of these effects are strongly dependent on the properties of the material and can range from a few fs to several ps. Although experiments can yield valuable information on the ultrafast dynamics of materials, a detailed analysis is often only possible theoretically. In this work ab initio simulations are used to analyze the response of materials to an ultrafast laser pulse.
