Zusammenfassung / Abstract

Traffic congestion has become one of the main challenges of increasing urbanisation. A model is developed to simulate the operation of an on-demand, door-to-door transport system with shared vehicles in city-scale scenarios. The vehicles are shared simultaneously by multiple riders to reduce traffic compared to the usage of private vehicles. Based on travel demand from the cities Munich and Singapore, simulations with multiple fleet sizes, passenger capacities, and demand levels are conducted to evaluate the performance of the transport system and the requirements for the vehicles.
